Coach Sean Hunter is looking forward to rejoining Shenendehowa softball for the 2017 season!  Sean has spent many years on the field, including as Mechanicville HS Varsity Softball Coach where he led his teams to Class C State Titles in years 2000, 2001, and 2002.  In years 2000 and 2002 his successes awarded him New York State Class C Head Coach of the Year.  Additionally, one of his players was named “NYS Player of the Year” in 2002.

Teaching high school math brought Sean to Shenendehowa in 1999.  It was not until 2006 when he joined Shen Varsity Softball as an assistant until 2008.  Each of those years, the teams were undefeated in the Suburban Council as well as Section II Champions.  This year, he hopes to continue helping his players achieve tremendous goals.

When Coach Hunter was away from the diamond, he had often been found coaching JV Girls’ soccer (Mechanicville and Shen), and for fifteen years as the Shenendehowa JV Boys’ Basketball coach.

Sean holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics in Secondary Education from SUNY Oneonta, and a Masters degree in Reading Education from the University at Albany.  He happily resides in the Shenendehowa School District with his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Mia and Jakob.
